Materials:
- Americana Multi-Surface Acrylics - Cotton Ball, Cobalt, Mushroom
- Water container
- Palette or plastic plate
- Paper towels
- E6000 glue
- Burlap
- 3/4" flat brush
- 1" painter's tape
- Cosmetic sponge
- Scissors
- Found objects
- Toolbox
Instructions:
- Using a 3/4" flat brush, paint the tool box with two coats of Mushroom.
- Use 1" painter's tape to mask off stripes at either side of the toolbox. (Refer to photo for placement.) Use a cosmetic sponge to dab on two coats of Cotton Ball. Remove tape.
- Tape off narrow stripes on each side of Cotton Ball stripes. Use cosmetic sponge to dab Cobalt accent stripes. Remove tape.
- Cut burlap into a rectangle. (The size will be determined by the size of the tool box; refer to photo.)
- Using a 3/4" flat brush, paint the burlap loosely with Cotton Ball. (Do not paint it solidly or paint all the way to the edges.)
- Place found objects, like nuts, bolts, or screws, on the burlap and spell out "Tools". Once you are happy with the placement, adhere the objects into place.
- When the "lettering" is dry, place the tools sign on the front of the tool box and adhere with E6000. (Refer to photo for placement.)
